Daylight Saving Time Ends (11/2/25) and Your MediaStar Schedule

Posted on October 15th, 2025 by Karol Shepherd

Daylight Saving Time will end at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 in most of the United States. Now is a good time to verify your station’s programming is listed correctly both before and after the change.

Remember we “fall back” with this change to Standard Time. This change makes Sunday’s schedule 25 hours long with one extra hour of programming to fill.  Because MediaStar’s grid always displays 24 hours of programming, any schedule that includes the Sunday time standard change may appear to be skewed by one hour.

MediaStar reflects the time change by displaying the start and end times in the affected cells with an ST appendage to reflect each program’s actual airtime according to Standard Time.

Below is a snapshot of a MediaStar Grid View for an overnight schedule for Saturday, November 1st. Note the program scheduled in the 2:00 AM Sunday time slot is listing 1:00 ST as its actual, post-transition starting time. The ST appendage in the affected cells illustrates their starting and ending times according to Standard Time.

Another way to verify your schedule is correct is to adjust your schedule so it ends on Saturday, November 1st, 2025. When that checks out, set the schedule to begin showing the schedule on Monday, November 3rd, 2025. All your programming will then be displayed according to the normal 24-hour per day schedule.
